Risen Christ
FCR399
1992, bronze, unique
- modelled in plaster

- carved marks

- Woolland studio, Dorset

- the only sculpture that Frink had assistance with because she was physically weakened by cancer

H: 3.96 cm (13ft)
Commission for the west facade, Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool

Frink created a powerful and universal primitive figure with no drapes, not the usual Roman Christ. This resurrected Christ, symbolising rebirth and the renewal of spirit and mind, held great meaning for her at a time when she was dying of cancer
