Walking Madonna
FCR299
1981, bronze, edition of 3
- modelled in plaster

- Woolland studio, Dorset

H: 205.7 cm (81 cm)
- in the collection of Salisbury Cathedral

- Walking Madonna, is rare in that Frink worked her ideas through the female form. It has often been surrounded by controversy, largely due to the fact that she is walkign away from the Cathedral, striding out into the world. For many though the figure is seen to reveal - depths of emotion and spiritual truths - and is seen as - one of the very few genuinely religious works of art of our time.
